    They specialize in a wide range of industries, including legal, medical, financial, technical, and more. Our team of professional translators has expertise in various fields to provide accurate and specialized delivery.

     

    In Oklahoma, there are two levels of interpreter credentials for spoken languages in the courts: “Certified Courtroom Interpreters” (the highest level) and “Registered Courtroom Interpreters” (the second highest level). Here’s the distinction:

    1. Registered Courtroom Interpreters:
      • Have passed the first level of basic testing.
      • Are registered as fluently knowing both languages.
      • Must attend an intensive two-day orientation training program.
      • Pass a written English examination to verify proficiency (including legal terminology and interpreter ethics).
      • Pass a basic proficiency examination in the foreign language of expertise.
      • Must also pass a background check and be U.S. citizens or qualified to work in the United States.


    1. Certified Courtroom Interpreters:
      • Hold the highest level of credential.
      • Have first passed both the registration exam and the far more advanced certification exam.
      • Demonstrated competence as language professionals to accurately perform in all three modes of interpreting.
      • Certification indicates the highest skill level.
      • Widely recognized in most state court systems.
      • The certification exam is challenging, even for highly proficient individuals in both languages.
